What does it take to win 3rd in over all showmanship when you are a first year 4H kid?
Our daughter would tell you.....
It takes two very dedicated 4H advisors that quiz you for hours on questions, but treat you like an adopted daughter,
and great 4H friends that also give you a little competition,
oh and don't forget those parents that quiz you with questions and drive you to meetings.
It may not look like it but it was a long hard road to make it to the 8yr old showmanship table
It is hard to get up in front of a grandstand full of people and answer questions to a judge
Presenting a rabbit involves knowing everything you possibly can
After winning at the 8yr old level you then move on to compete against the winners of the 9,10,&11 year old classes (the winners of the 9 & 10yr old class are club mates too)
After winning the 8-11 yr old division you then move on to compete against the winners of the three older divisions. As you can tell it can be intimidating to an 8yr old among all those towering teenagers, but so sweet when you place third among them.
